Tsavo National Park 6 Day Bird Watching Excursion

Day 1: Early departure to Tsavo East NP from Nairobi.  arrival at lodge, late afternoon game viewing

Day 2: We head out for bird viewing, looking for the verreveaux eagles, red and yellow barbels and the mammalian distractions! Overnight and dinner

Day 3 & 4: Leave mid-morning for Tsavo West NP and spend 2 nights at Ngulia Lodge, which is located on the migratory route and allows rewarding viewing during the migratory season 

Day 5 & 6: Visit to Lake Jipe where we should observe falcons, prinias among the teeming bird life.  Overnight at the lodge

Day 7:  Early morning trip back to Nairobi

 

Kenyan Coastal Bird Watching Tour

Day 1: Morning flight to Malindi and hotel check in, optional local sight-seeing tours of the Marine Park, Robinson Island, and Marafa’s Kitchen

Day 2: We drive to the Arabuko-Sokoke Forest, just under 10Kms from Malindi. This is a full day walk in the forest which is home to more than 200 recorded species of birds. We search notably for the Sokoke Scops Owl, Sokoke Pitpit, Nightjars, Clarke’s Weaver, Amani Sunbird and observe the different forest cover including the Miombo Woodlands. Of interest near the forest is Mida Creek with six species of mangrove trees, and migrant birds including Crab-plover, Greater Flamingos, Terek Sandpipers and Sandplovers can be found wintering here. Look out as well for the African broadbill, Boehm’s spinetail and more .

Day 3: The Gede Ruins is a coastal woodland and evergreen forest and is the starting place of the day’s tour which will take us on ot Sabaki River to find some resident gulls and terns.

Day 4 & 5: We head to the South Coast and visit Shimba Hills, a bird watcher’s paradise.

Day 6: We end the tour and enjoy Kenyan coastal hospitality with its variety of activities and rich culture.

Day 7: Return to Nairobi.

 

Maasai Mara, Naivasha 4 day Safari

We begin our journey with savannah grasslands in the Maasai Mara and end up with the cool breezes of Lake Naivasha.

Day 1: Departure from Nairobi to the Maasai Mara Game Reserve. Arrival at the lodge and late afternoon game viewing and exploring the plains of the Mara. Depending on the season you can witness the annual wildebeest migration, and the crossing of the Mara River.

Day 2: The day is spent exploring, the lodges offer walks, cultural visits and many other activities.

Day 3: After breakfast we leave the Maasai Mara for Naivasha via the Mai Mahiu route. This is an overnight stay following arrival and bird watching along the lake peninsula.

Day 4: An early morning game drive to Hell’s Gate Sanctuary, return for breakfast and thereafter a drive back to Nairobi
